    Shinobido: Tales of the Ninja

Shinobido is the main reason I want to get my PS2 modded which I still haven't done. I figured I would get the PSP game to tide me over until I eventually do that and/or get Tenchu Wii.

So, I like what I have played of the PSP game so far. It has a lot of the charm (and glitchiness) of the original Tenchu but with some neat new stuff. My question for those that have played both is, is the PS2 one that much better? And if so, in what ways?

  2. The PS2 version is kinda weird from the PSP version's perspective.

Less levels, but they're not map editor levels, so they're more detailed and cooler overall. You'll revisit them a lot with different enemy placement and such. And the PSP version is missing the whole relationship setup, garden setup, and alchemy setup. The first two of those were a big part of why I liked the game so much; I can explain 'em in more detail if wanted.

You'll be able to make levels for the PSP version, if you want, and the game comes with some goofy example maps.

The games are very similar mechanically. PS2 version controls slightly better, but it's not night and day. Physics are a little better on PS2, though; I remember making a map and being surprised that it played fundamentally different on the PSP.

There's also Shinobido Takumi, which I have yet to check out, but it's apparently just a big old disc of fan maps. Not unlike the PSP game.

Thanks. It sounds like there are some notable differences.
