I actually don't mind that. I still prefer the older style than when FFVII came out with the RPG now basically leading you to where they wanted you to go the entire game. Zelda 3/4/5 are highlights to how I still want to play an RPG.

Yeah, the version that comes in one of the Taito Legends discs is way better.
Overall, the two Taito Legends discs represent what you wanted your NES arcade ports to look like back in the 1980s.

They were good enough in the 80's, IMO.
I'm actually extremely happy the NES couldn't do a 1:1 port with a lot of games. We got a lot of interesting/better stuff because of that.
