Thread: Suggest Me NES Games: Nintendo Entertainment System

  1. River City Ransom
    The Guardian Legend
    Conquest of the Crystal Palace
    Clash at Demonhead
Top Secret Episode: Golgo 13 (probably doesn't hold up, but hey)

There's more, but that's off the top of my head

Neat little RPG that doesn't get enough love.

    How is 3-D Worldrunner?

Other games I'm curious about that haven't been listed:

    *Bee 52
    *Impossible Mission II
*Iron Sword: Wizards & Warriors II
    *Kabuki Quantum Fighter
    *The Lone Ranger
    *Narc
    *Snow Bros.
*T&C Surf Designs: Thrilla's Safari (I played the hell out of the first one, which isn't supposed to be nearly as good as this one.)
    *Trojan
    *Ultimate Stuntman

    And I second RC Pro-Am

  4. I liked Kabuki Quantum Fighter. You attack with hair!

    Seconded. Should've been a classic.

  6. Trojan was cool, but you could pass it in under 15 minutes, literally.

Another cool game that doesn't get attention is Abadox.

  7. Monster Party!

  8. Has anyone mentioned Destiny of an Emperor yet? Because that shit was fun AND informative. Basically like a middle ground between Final Fantasy I and the equally engrossing KOEI games (Romance of Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga's Ambition, etc.).

Speaking of KOEI, the NES version of Uncharted Waters was pretty cool as well.

    - World Runner's impressive graphically, very smooth. I think the game's just okay.
    - I never liked Impossible Mission II as much as the first for some reason. The computer versions look better stylistically anyway.
    - I like Ironsword but it's nothing special. Like the first game, it can be really frustrating with the constant slippery hopping around.
    - Kabuki Quantum Fighter's got some great atmosphere and level design. I love it.
    - Lone Ranger's interesting in that it mixes controller and Zapper play. I never really got into but it's fairly good, better than Bayou Billy anyway, a game that reminds me a bit of it.
    - NARC I wouldn't bother with since the arcade version's available in compilations. It's not a bad port gameplay-wise from what I remember but the graphics suck.
    - Snow Bros. is a good single-screen platformer but I would go for the arcade version.
    - Trojan's another one where the arcade version's best. The NES version's decent enough but like Melf said, it's short.
    - Ultimate Stuntman's pretty neat. It mixes different genres like driving and platforming quite well. I like the C64-ish music, too.
