I just started playing Viking: Battle for Asgard, and I'm really liking it. The whole "hack shit and level up" gameplay is really cool, and the game is darn purdy.

Don't forget the dynamic character-environment interaction that garnered the game a 9.5 from Dave Halverson!

It took a few missions to come to grips with the controls, but once you're used to it, it's ok. This game is a poster child for a dual stick PSP, though.

It's hard in that it's very unforgiving. Like, you're 30 minutes into a 50 minute time limited mission, you're running out of food, low on HP and you need to go through a zone full of horrible, horrible Velociraptors to retrieve some big ass egg.

Instead of running head long into the fight, you decide to farm some herbs and harvest some meat. By the time you're done, you've got 5 minutes to get that egg and leg it back to town. It's just a lot more stressful than I'm used to, I think.

I do really like how differently each weapon plays. I went from Great Sword to Spear and basically had to learn everything all over again.

As for overdoes of awesome. I've got a high tolerance for awesome threshold.

I went on an X-COM binge the last week or two and didn't touch FFIV. Now that I'm over that I've put about 10 hours into FFIV over the past several days.

I tried to play Freelancer and Never Winter Nights yesterday. I like Freelancer, but not too into NWN. After looking at a review and a few forums, it seems most people suggest skipping the main game and just jumping into the expansions. I'll try that today if I get the chance.

Been playing through Twin Snakes again but I really need an S Video cable for my Wii because playing it through an RF on my hdtv looks like absolute ass. Boom Blox, Maverick Hunter X, Soul Cal 4, a 4th runthrough of Guns of the Patriots, and a bit of Oblivion GoTY (finally started going through the Shivering Isles). Hopefully getting Madden today and that will suck up a lot of my time.

I am now on the last boss of metroid prime and its certain that this game really blew it in a lot of aspects.

Bosses are not hard, or challenging, theyre just cheap.

Metroid Prime was better than 90% of the games released last gen, and if you're talking about the new one MP3 was pretty fucking good too.

Me I'm getting back into Zack and Wiki, and Okami. I have a habit of getting halfway through a game and then not touching it for months.
