    Europe Fuel

Here's the first developer interview/trailer. It's an open-world post-apocalyptic racing game due in 2009. The gimmick here is that this is the first of the current-gen Codemasters games to include weather effects... and these happen to include effects like sandstorms and tornadoes. The weather and the time of day also apparently changes in real-time.

The only thing that's a little weird is that this isn't by either the Racing Studio or the Sega Rally Revo team. It's by Asobo Studio, whose only notable previous game is the absolutely horrible Ratatouille. They had also previously announced an racer for current-gen systems called Grand Raid Offroad, which was supposed to be an open-world racer with real-time weather effects. Hmm...

If any company knows racing, though, it's Codemasters. I hope their decision to publish the title means that it's a good game.

  2. This looks pretty good, having a tornado in the middle of the track is pretty cool. I am playing Flatout Ultimate Carnage now and it is actually a pretty impressive offroad/destruction derby-esque racing. A shame that most ppl dismiss it. And Fuel looks to be better than FO:UC.
