Agreed. I also got better with the crossfader. Overall this game has great mashups; overall fun for someone that likes hip-hop/electronica in general. I have been slowly going through the songs on medium and building up the reflexes to be beter. Most of the people that I have heard complaining about this game seem to just not like anything without a guitar in it.

Oh and to REWIND! just spin the record backwards once and try to catch the buttons before they slip out your fingers.

So do you think the renegade table is better? It is just some metal buttons or what?

I'm pretty sure that the deck itself is the exact same in the Renegade vs. regular edition (edit: I'm stupid, guess they at least look different.) The Renegade edition has a metal case that doubles as a stand for the deck, but I've heard people say that the height of it ends up being rough on the wrists.

I just kept it in my lap while I played and that seemed to work fine.

I haven't used or ever seen a regular table IRL yet so I can't say. The only thing I know for sure that's different is that the crossfader and effects dial are made of metal on the renegade table while they're plastic on the regular one.

The height is totally adjustable so I you can set it up for whatever is comfortable for you. However the taller you make it the less sturdy it becomes. I only tried it out once though, I've just been playing at my desk.

  7. I can't say I have any desire to play this and I DJ constantly. The only appeal this game has to me is being able to use Grand Master Flash and DJ Shadow. Daft Punk has its charms too. I think I read somewhere long ago that they were going to put that piece of shit DJ AM in the game...is there confirmation on that? If they put his sorry ass in the game I'll just simply boycott it.

From the fader reviews yall been giving it makes me scratch my head. Faders shouldn't "click" in the middle. Battle DJ faders should be real loose and not stiff. If I was to play it, I'm not sure if I'd play the game lefty or righty style since you're able to switch it up either way.

  8. DJ AM is in it.

I did start to get used to it, and it became less of a problem, but I still feel like it just needs to be different.

Correct me if I'm wrong... an actual crossfader doesn't just have three positions, correct? Hence the term fader -- it can be anywhere between? 20%/80%, 30%/70%, 50%/50%, etc.? In that sort of application, it makes sense for it to be loose. The game only recognizes "left", "center", and "right" though... going from either position into center is just a pain in the ass, it's too easy to overshoot or not go far enough. Once you memorize the throw distance it won't be a problem, but for the purpose of this game it just needs to be easier to accurately put it right into the proper position. In my opinion.

I could just be mistaken about how an actual deck works, though, in which case I guess I just suck and you can disregard all of the above.

  10. Yeah I thought about mentioning it a couple of times, but real faders dont have any sort of "click" in the center, they are completely loose from end-to-end. Whether they did this in the game for authenticity or to make rapid fader moves smoother (you dont want to have to go over a bump if you have to shift it around really quick), I don't know.
