I'd like to purchase a decent camcorder to record footage and stuff for the upcoming Tokyo Game Action SF4 event. I want to keep the budget within $100 - $200 and just need something with USB 2.0 support, flash memory and at least 4x optical zoom. Any recommendations?
Oh... Best Buy and CC are the only electronic stores around my area.

LOL.
Seriously though, I figure a bunch of people have camcorders here so I wanted their suggestions as to what would be an ideal purchase.
Can't help you with that price range. I am sure you can pick up a decent one used tho.
Really? Hm, I just want something that can easily allow me to upload the videos for YouTube.
Got a firewire port?
If yes: buy ANY DV camera.
If no: buy a $5 firewire card.
my cousin has a very slim, handheld, 720p, SD card camera, i just texted him its the "apitek hd camera" and its pretty cheap, and you can select 480p and 320 too i believe. Its pretty decent (dont expect to be doing amazingly pro looking stuff though)
footage with it:
the drawbacks im seeing is its 50/50 that the mic sucks, and there is no zoom, you have to move yourself back or forth.
(i laughed watching it cause he has an Ariflex-S, the film camera ive been using for the past year)

I've heard good things about these if you're just looking for quick youtube stuff http://www.theflip.com/
I'm actually looking for a camcorder in that price range right now as well. I'm trying to help some people out who need a cheap camcorder to get decent video as well as stills and can take that video and stills and send it straight on to someone else via the web to do some simple editing and then send it back to then be placed on a website. In that price range there really only seemed to be a few decent ones worth considering: DXG 5.0 MP HD Digital Camcorder, Apitek 5.0 MP HD Digital Camcorder, and Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra/Mino.
The first 2 just happen to be HD and in the price range, but HD is not a requirement. Mainly just decent video with some zoom (though most in that price range have hardly any) and can take stills.
