    Quite a game in Toronto.

Pitt is the scariest team below 2 in the East.

What the fuck are you smoking? They have no D and no goalie, and their only toughness comes from the geriatric ward.

The Flyers and Panthers are both better than Pittsburgh. The Flyers also have no D and no goalie, but they have more offensive depth and more grit.

Last night was awesome with Boston, Philly, and Washington all losing.

edit: Plus, Pittsburgh will have Crosby back for the playoffs, IF they make it, and that's a huge negative.

  3. No goalie? Weren't they in the finals last year with Fleury?

That aside, I don't think Pittsburgh with a newly-acquired Guerin is a threat to go deep. I even like the Rangers chances better than the Penguins - which is saying something.

Boston hasn't played well in 10 games going down the stretch and Washington's loss last night really doesn't indicate anything because AO was out of the lineup.

The Devils have to be the favorite right now but as a Devils fan I wouldn't want to draw the Rangers - and I'm not saying that as a Rangers fan. Those series tend to take on a life of their own and the regular season doesn't matter all that much.

  4. After really going over the trades and moves, l've come up with this (and problably obvious) THE EAST GOT ALOT TOUGHER TO GO THROUGH!! But its gonna be fun to watch the rest of the way even more. Pittsburgh looking dangerous again and NY just got themselves the makeover they needed. Go Devils!!

You never want rivals in the playoffs. I completely agree with that.

Fleury is a joke. Bring that bitch on.

  6. Fleury isn't Marty or Henrik, but he's better than Biron/Theodore, etc...

I think Boston's goalies are a question mark, too. And of all the playoff teams I think Montreal is the most likely to drop out of this race given that their goalies are terrible.

Look again. The Devils won't play more than one of the 6-10 teams that all made moves. And none of them got that much better. Philadelphia got worse. Washington, Florida, and Montreal didn't do shit. Boston didn't get Pronger but settled for Recchi, who is older than dirt, and Montador, who no one cared about until he was traded and they had to "analyze" the deal. It didn't get easier, but it certainly didn't get anything resembling "ALOT TOUGHER TO GO THROUGH!!"

A 6-Year-Old Reacts to the Rangers’ Big Trade
    By THE NEW YORK TIMES
    A Times colleague writes:

My 6-year-old’s favorite players are Lundqvist, Prucha and Dawes. When he got home I was curious what his reaction to the NYR/PHX trade would be. Tears? Rage? He asked why they were traded and I explained how the Rangers got a pretty good defenseman in Morris. His response: “At least they got rid of Kalinin.”
