Thread: Election Thread 2016

  1. Just enrolled in my 2016 benefits. Kept the same plan, which has a $5 cheaper copay for specialist visits, but is otherwise identical to last year's PPO. My weekly cost went up seven cents. That $3.64 I'll lose next year could have gone into my local economy. Thanks, Obama.

I know this year it was going to skyrocket and didn't because the corporate mandate hadn't kicked in yet and 2016 it was really supposed to skyrocket because the corporate mandate is in effect, but now I'm told that 2017, no seriously, is when premiums are going to go through the roof if we don't repeal this utter failure.

    fuck it, who cares.

  3. Mighty cavalier about an increase of 0.28%.

I already spend like 1/3 to 1/2 of my check on bills and taxes. What the fuck is another percent?

And that percent isn't what is stopping me from achieving my dreams.

People worry too much about nothing.

  5. These idiots really debated on what tax plan god would like.

  6. God explicitly laid that out in the Old Testament.
    Boo, Hiss.

  7. Fuck enrollment, I'm getting tired of my employer changing everything each year.
Last year I was on a plan with a higher deductible, but copay visits.
This year, the scrapped the plan and only have the deluxe one with a low deductible and lower copay. It'll cost me an extra $200+ a month to take that.
So now I'm switching to an HSA plan where I have to pay my deductible, then a percentage of each visit. I had to do the math and I think it'll work out to a better deal for me than the other one, but I still have to put the same amount away in savings for it to work out.
Why are you reading this? go to your general settings and uncheck the Show Signatures box already!

I read that shit for like 30 minutes then picked a plan. Then never thought about it again. And I've never used any of it outside of one dentist visit in the 2.5 years I've been employed here.

I can see people worrying if they have children, but as a single male, it isn't worth worrying about. It is what it is.

  9. Uhh I highly recommend you know and use your benefits. I'm able to get a massage every week expensed, deduct medicine, consult with a naturopath, expense my nieces day care, go on long term disability, get sick on vacay, and expense 99% of my transit pass because I chose the right one.

Deductibles and coverage are what you need to know really. Then you can go to the dentist more than once every 3 years.
