As far as presidential elections go, yeah. I've voted in each one since 2000, and each time was a lesser of two or more evils.
Now, there were a couple Senate contests where I voted for the candidate because I actually liked him. I didn't mind voting for Tim Kaine. And voting for Jim Webb is a downright euphoric experience.

I like sanders more than the others. I also don't think he has the capacity to make things worse. I can't say that for Hillary or trump.
Though as time goes by, hillary looks more and more like a Republican in desguise. She'll probably aim for more token nerd gun bans while leaving hand guns alone. Probably do nothing for lbgt and other minorities. Do nothing to make healthcare better. And probably make several things worse to pay her campaign financers back.
She's bad news.
I really wonder what would have happened had he gone with his original choice of Lieberman. He was always the underdog but it was like his poll numbers dropped every time Palin started talking.
She lost the election for him. I knew racists that voted oboma because she was straight up the dumb woman in the dumb woman jokes.
I think McCain would have had to have pulled off some kind of miracle to win in '08. After 8 years of Bush, the "brand" was toxic - nobody who hadn't consistently voted straight-ticket R their whole life was voting for any Republican. So his only hope was to motivate massive turnout among the base, as Palin was clearly intended to - but what's going to do that without simultaneously provoking a massive "oh hell no" reaction from the other side's base (and even a big chunk of the middle), as Palin did? Certainly not Lieberman. Oh sure, he wouldn't have triggered the backlash, but nor would he have had any appeal to the base, to speak of, leaving McCain right back at "sorry, this just isn't a Republican's year to win".
Actually, now that I think about it, there was one thing that could've maybe swung it for him, but not something within his power - if the Democrats had been dumb enough to run Hillary. Given how hated she is on the right, THAT would've motivated massive turnout while not necessarily doing the same for the left. (This is still very true, and thus the biggest reason they should run Sanders this year.)
