I'm not convinced trump is not in on it. He probably suppose to be unelectable and a joke. If elected, he'd probably give in to the highest bidders like hillary. Cruz will probably do about the same, but to get the approval of the political elite he desperately wants to be a part of.

Because they seemed damned and determined to get a minority in the white house the last go round, and they are damned and determined to get one in this time too.
