I've become increasingly libertarian and want to see drastic cutbacks in the size of goverment. But goddamn, birth control?? How can you NOT support a government which helps their people avoid babies they can't afford?? As long as women can choose which birth control they want to use, so there is competition among pharmaceuticals and no one company is favored, I can not name one single drawback?? Of course, Yoshi is going to come in here and quote some bullshit from the RNC platform pdf, but then they're all going to raise thier fists to bitch about this new generation of unwanted people going on walefare.

And for the record, I know the GOP line is Republicans see this as freedom of religion and the government forcing churches to pay for something they don't believe in. But, I think that is no longer an issue now that the burden is on the insurance companies. And as far as the Catholic church, or any other religious institute, self-insuring, they should expect to do things they don't want when faced with non-religious business endeavors. And in the end, none of this even matters, because every goddamn Republican pundit out there, makes it an issue on birth control and moral depravity. The climax of that was the Rush of Limbaugh that exploded last week.

Anyhow, fuck the Republicans! They will never downsize the government, because their cushy little looby-paid jobs depend on it, so what do they do? The only thing they can - invade countries and mandate social regulations on the people. That always rallies the base.
