Thread: Election Thread 2016

  1. I'm voting Obama. I have a huge fear once Romney gets into office he'll appease the radical right by introducing legislation I find abhorring. I just don't like any politician running for president.

That said, it's more important to vote for Congress.

  2. I'm waiting to see if Ron goes third party or stays loyal to the party that hates him. Romney's immigration policies are appalling, yet Obama’s NDAA 2012 signing and Lobby pandering is equally offensive.

  3. I don't think Romney will introduce terribad right-wing legislation but I do think he'll sign the stuff. Which means that control of Congress is even more important.

What about Romney's immigration policies do you not like?

I don't see Dr. Paul going third party. He had his son to consider, after all.

  5. He's against the Dream Act; denying children opportunities for their parents actions is morally unacceptable.

True, Paul is also against it, but at least he can explain himself in a manner I can agree with.

EDIT: Romney won't even support the Rubio compromise.

I'm okay with the Dream Act, but if we're being honest I really don't care either way. I care more about the NDAA because it actually impacts me directly.

But would Romney repeal it? I don't know for sure, which is why I need to do more research before making my mind up. I mean, for all his demonizing of the PATRIOT Act as Candidate Obama, he sure does seem to love it as President Obama. So we'll just have to see.

And that's not to be flippant about immigration reform. We need it. But I also need to be sure I won't be unlawfully detained by our rulers. Self-serving, I know, but undeniably truthful.

“I’m taking a look at his proposal,” said Romney. “It has many features to commend it. But it’s something that we’re studying.”

Your statement and that are not even remotely the same thing.

  8. Here let me translate that for you.

“I’m taking a look at his credentials,” said Romney. “I know Rubio is who you all want me to name, but VP is something that we’re studying.”

  9. I think this is the first rational political ad I may have ever seen.

You know things are bad for Romney when his own ads don't even mention his name.
