Yea. I think Comey has done a good faith job t date. I really do. I think what he said in that presser was fair. At the same time, if they found emails while investigating Weiner's schlong, they found emails and need to look into it.
It's funny I saw people on HRC Reddit saying Comey should be arrested or impeached for being partisan, I don't see it. If he found new evidence they need to look at it and if they are looking at it they need to inform Congress I guess.

And how often do prosecutors/investigators get to call something "evidence" before they've even seen it? Comey has no idea what's in those emails yet.
I guess my beef is less with Comey and more with sensationalist "CASE REOPENED" reporting. We already knew the FBI would be admitting new evidence for years to come. What we don't know is whether this evidence is even new; these could be emails we already had for all we know or Comey knows.

Reasonable point. I would argue that Comey wouldn't have sent that letter had it all been repeats or whatever. Not to say that there is definitely fire in there, but there is more than just smoke.

This went way beyond social media. CNN and NYT both ran the "reopened" line that originated with Jason Chaffetz. NBC, Bloomberg, USA Today etc. all wound up walking back their original "reopened" headlines, too.
Yeah, and CNN had big white stupid headers above the debate stream. Shit that was only slightly more sophisticated than "dis gonna be gud" AND they spliced in troll "man in the high castle" ads on load in.
