This proves a few things:
Though Repubs were on the front lines, it goes to show that the Democratic party is just as divided. So many are blaming the lack of Bernie for the loss - this would not have made a difference in the states that are now battlegrounds. Both parties failures to consider the reality of class differences, and both have suffered because of it. The democrats will now turn against each other as the republicans have - the "old style" and the "new progressives."
Secondly, CA/WA/OR desperately needs some sovereignty. For CA, the sixth largest economy in THE WORLD - to be held hostage by disenfranchised midwesternites - absolutely unforgivable. If this is what it takes for true change, than count me in. But it's gonna suck.
Third, this puts political science on its side. Polling, whatever - all proven wrong, desperately wrong.
Fourth, Americas true president is Television. The allure of this reality star TV icon being elected takes precedence over experience and competence.

If CA wants sovereignty why do they keep voting for liberals that want to keep expanding the federal government instead of states rights conservatives? I don't buy it. This is a huge country with lots of people. We try to make it work but I think we are all the better for it.
You're right on the polling. It's an utter disaster. These people don't know shit. I wonder how things would have gone had 538 and others actually showed it to be a 50/50 election.
