America is pretty cool if only because you know where the lines are drawn, and we've always kind of known where the lines are drawn
We all have an idea of what will get us killed, put in jail, etc
I'm not saying those lines have ever been fair, but everyone could prep for them for the most part
Not so in europe People were still going into places just killing every one all the way into ww2
Take the "Stalinist repressions in Mongolia" where russia just rolled up into Mongolia in the 1937 and killed 3% of the population
