Quicktime. "export audio"
Okay.
So I'm trying to rip an .mpeg file's audio so I can convert it into an mp3 and listen to it on my Shuffle. Is this possible? And if so, is it free? And if that also passes, how?

You can't do that on a Windows box without having QT Pro.
Any video editing app can do this, maybe even Windows Movie Maker (is that what the one that comes with Windows is called?). Unless you want to get into using an actual video editing app, I'd recommend you either buy or borrow QT Pro.
Forgot to post that I solved the issue. I tried some old program I had buried on my PC and it worked wonders. American Psycho during work was awesome.
I used Super C, got it from Something Awful.
Tomorrow it's time for maybe Chasing Amy.
Might I suggest Total Recall?
I think my ex kept it hostage. I'm not happy about this.
