Help Me Fix My Router!

For some reason, my router started to randomly disconnect me every hour.


My router has a field to put in DHCP lease times, which was set to an hour. Would this be what was disconnecting me?

also, the field is asking for a lease time in seconds, which currently gives me a max time of only 99999 seconds (27ish hours). If i was to set it to 0, do you think it would be set on indefinite lease time or would it fuck everything up?


Any other ideas?

throw it out, buy a new one

real answer: fuck dhcp, set all your wired/constantly-connected connections to static ips and keep a small pool of dhcp ips (5 or so) for use by guests for their laptops or whatever

yeah, i was kinda shocked too see that it was set as dhcp, i remember spending hours port forwarding to my static IP. Must have been on my old router. Its been set back now, i'll let you know if that was the problem.
