A ticking from a thumb drive? How does that happen when a thumb drive has no moveable parts?

Or do you mean that you have some kind of noise in the head unit itself? I haven't had any audio issues with mine using a flash drive, other than the audio loss from MP3 compression.

I have a 512 mb mp3 player that I got 2 christmases ago (was told it cost $30 at the time) and it holds about 30 songs and works like a charm to this day. Only maintenence ever done on it was changing the AAA batteries. If you need more than 30 different songs during a day where you work you may in fact be doing it wrong.

I have a 30GB Creative Zen Vision and it is utterly invaluable. I had one earlier but i cracked the screen, so i ordered another the moment i got home.

If you need more than 30 different songs during a day where you work you may in fact be doing it wrong.

I listen to 10 hours of mp3 player goodness a day. 30 songs = LOL. (Though i do spend most of it listening to podcasts)

Holy Jesus for reals? I don't think I've ever had a job where I could get away with listening to anything for that amount of time. My brother did give me his when he got an Ipod, so now I can listen to 60 songs!
