Glad to see Rourke win for The Wrestler. He deserved it. Guess I need to see Slumdog. I've heard things about it, but I should probably judge for myself. Ledger winning was no surprise. I need to see John Adams as well.

The fact that both Tom Cruise and Robert Downey were nominated for 'Best Supporting Actor' in Tropic Thunder proves how terrible this years selections were. Hilarious movie, but no fucking way both should have ever been nominated (let alone either of them).

I finally got around to watching Slumdog. It was really freaking good, although I do still like The Wrestler a bit more.
You sir, are a hideous hermaphroditical character which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.
But it's the Golden Globes, and they have a specific category for comedy. What actors in a comedy would you have chosen over those two? There is no way in hell either of those will be nominated for an Oscar, but honestly, when you have a specific category for best supporting actor in a comedy, where do your options lay? Those two were the best choices, and Robert Downey should have won (to be fair though, I haven't seen In Bruges).
EDIT: Rather than delete my whole post even though it's moot. I now see that for supporting roles they don't differentiate genres. NEVERMIND.
