Thread: Mac People - Network Help!

  1. Mac People - Network Help!

    Hey!

Visiting home for the holidays! So, I'm trying to set up this old iMac on a wireless network for my folks, and I'm stuck.

Allegedly it's got an Airport card built in, but it doesn't seen to be recognizing the WPA network at all, nor any other neighborhood wireless network for that matter. I'm not a Mac person, I don't even know where to start with this shit.

Any of you experts have any experience with this or know of any particular sites that can help me out with this?

    Thanks!

  2. Well, either it's not turned on or your parents' network isn't broadcasting the SSID. If you can find a computer that's already on the network, find the wireless network name and then type it into "Other" exactly as it appears.

I've attached a pic. As you can see I'm borrowing the neighbor's internet while out of town...
