Oddly enough, I don't have a problem with this statement. The president of the US having other things to do than play games is fine by me.

He is right.

Anyone that isn't aware of phenomena as he describes it, is a fool. You'd either have to be too stupid to use a computer or too poor to own one to not know what he is talking about.

We live in an age of too much garbage information. It is easy and cheap to communicate simple things. With a few minutes of work, a message can be spread across the globe.

And sadly, the bulk of it is garbage. Moments in time are held forever (or until the hosting money runs out) in the internet. IRL what I'm saying would only last a moment. Because I'm saying it online however, it will last so long as TNL last.

Now multiply that by a couple million. Every conversation, every post, every thread, every blog, every picture, every website, every article, every video, and every picture spread across the globe, lasting indefinitely.


This problem is only compounded by how widespread TV, movies, music, and printed media are in the industrialized world. And the bulk of it, mind you, is worthless shit. Almost all of it is meant to get your money. Very little of it actually enriches you, makes you more informed, makes you grow.


There is a reason that the rest of the world thinks America is a nation of fat lazy people. It isn't only because of Walmart and McDonalds. The other half of the equation is that we are a nation obsessed with being entertained. We adore garbage information. Shit, it and technology is about the only thing we export to other countries. American ideas are about the only thing other countries will pay us for.

The US is the most powerful country in the history of the world and what do we do with this power?

Go home, eat a sandwich, and dick off. Wash, repeat, get old, die.
