They have skin in the game too. If the economy collapses they will either loose power or the quality of life they had before.

No one, not even bad people, want the system to break. Otherwise, where are they going to find nice houses and 64 inch HD tvs to buy with all the corrupt money?

Also, Free trade has a much bigger part in your daughters future than Obamacare. Industry's value is not infinite which is why there is a huge push to globalize former shithole countries like India, UAE and China. If your daughter is not willing to work for the same wages an Indian or Mexican will, she won't work.

In all seriousness, I'd like to start a business eventually. That takes more capital than the act of living does. Its kind of foolish and unamerican to expect people to be content with the simple act of going to work, coming home, piddiling with this and that, and that should be enough for them. This country was built on the idea of wanting more. Thats why everyone came here. More freedom, more money, more space, more chances. More something.

Government takes "other people's money" and sends it to giant corporations nowadays. And those giant corporations take some of that money and use it to buy and sell the new breed of politicians. A lot of these corporations actually don't have a lot of "skin in the game", because they've influenced the laws and the lawmakers to the point where they don't even play the game by the same rules as everyone else.
