his opinion is probably based on the government paid health care that we already have in the US.

Where doctors get paid less for their work, and sometimes not paid at all.

My employer would have breached my contract, and I would sue. I would also cease to provide my services. Sounds like a peachy end result when applied to health care, wouldn't you say?

Precisely. Not to mention the absurd drop in quality. Compare Duke Medical Center to Walter Reed Army Hospital. Which would you choose if you needed a major surgery? I know what Ted Kennedy chose...

I didn't really like healthcare in Germany. But it was insinuated that I was stupid for not doing a larger sample size before coming to that conclusion.

I don't really understand why their is so much hesitation to pay doctors a lot for care.

    its your fucking health.

Your fucking body, the body of your wife, and your fucking kids.

its worth more than your car, your house, your fucking tv, or xbox.

Even if it goes government paid, a lot of money should still go to doctors. God damn health is worth more than a million other things we waste money on. If you aren't healthy, 90% of everything else does not mean a fucking shit.

I don't want a budget government model. I don't want to have a future recession and US healtcare get turned into some cheap walmart horse shit as a result. I want good care. I want doctors to get paid well. I want the doctor to spend the right amount of time with me and my family. I want him to take his time. I want him to do test. I want him to do too much, and not too little.

The big reason I don't want government more involved in medicine is because they do believe in compromise. I do not want a compromise between health and cost. I want a doctor to do what he has to fucking do to find out why I am sick. I don't want him avoiding test because he has to meet some sort of cost target mandated by the state.

I know, some people are reading this and thinking "god Ip, you are so dumb, the UK and the UE are not like that" Well, we aren't like either of them and our politicians don't think like them. We live in a country that is right now unpaving roads to save money. Our country is taking down public street lamps to save money. And our government is about to fire a lot of teachers, to save money.

I don't want to be fucking 80 one day and told I can't get a test to find out why I am ill because the state wants to save money.

All or nothing, I say. Let the nation go into debt if it means I live. My health is not something that I want to take one for the team on.

Whatever option was going to be taken on health care would involve government interference.

Personal responsibility. That's the answer to 99% of all questions regarding what is "fair."

  7. Sex it up all you want, but racism is racism is racism.

You're 100% right on that topic. Equal Opportunity =/= Affirmative Action. The latter is absolutely racist, no matter which way you slice it. It's either punishing certain groups for being born a certain race/gender or sending the message to the opposite groups that they're not competitive on their own merits. Hell, there are enough dumbass white males in this thread to open doors wide for minorities.

Wages don't even match up with health care. How can I be fiscally responsible for my health when the company I've poured sweat and tears into won't give me a wage good enough to pay for it? Even with a higher skillset, the vast majority of the US cannot pay for their own health care out of pocket. I bet you can't, either.

Affirmative Action was a necessary step in a time when blacks were being hosed down for asking for equal treatment, segregation was the social norm, and minorities were not even allowed to have anything without the risk of it being snatched away from them by angry white men. You're blind to history if you think Affirmative Action wasn't needed during the 60s and 70s. Right now, I'll say financial diversity is more important that racial diversity is since now you're more fucked if you're poor than if you're black or brown, but for two white men to sit there and tell me minorities would just have been integrated into the work force gradually when there's hundreds of years in US history to prove otherwise is a crock of shit and the dumbest thing I've ever read on TNL.

Yoshi is white now? The wiki should be updated to reflect this.
