Thread: The Obama Presidency

  1. Um what super technology do you have that's going to stop .50 cal bullets from slaughtering the mexican police?

Also I like how you say "Why try to change things somewhere, else, let's just help them!"

Right, Clinton cried his will down from the mountain and thus it was so.

If his agenda were so offensive to Republicans, they had the means to stop it during his presidency and they had the means to reverse it during Bush's. They didn't. You can't nurture a bad idea from infancy to adulthood and then say "well, I blame the biological father" when it goes sour.

  3. The assault rifle ban wasn't quite what people thought it was. You couldn't buy automatic assault weapons before it was passed and you couldn't buy them after it expired. During the ban, you could still buy semi-automatic assault rifles, made domestically and overseas. It only applied to weapons made during the ban, and there was loopholes to get around EVERYTHING.

That being said, it doesn't need to be reinstated. I am absolutely infuriated with these anti-gun Democrats who obviously don't understand the foundations of this country. If they don't understand the purpose of the Second Amendment, they should not be allowed to participate in government. Without the Second Amendment, the people have no protection from losing all of their other rights. These fools who think that we were given the right to own and bear firearms to hunt deer and maybe defend our homes with someday need to be given a history lesson about the building of this country.

  4. There should be a complete ban on automatic assault weapons, one without loopholes. Semi Automatic I care less about but there's enough problems with regular gun control to allow people to take out 30 people in 5 seconds if they want. I know you're a militant so I'm not surprised that you want complete freedom, but if you don't draw the line somewhere based on the dangers of it then people may as well be allowed bombs and rocket launchers.

Fully automatic weapons have been banned since the 1930's, though it is still possible for responsible, law-abiding Americans to purchase and own them (an expensive and lengthy process however). A ban will not take weapons off the street. Illegal activity involving gun crime is generally done with weapons that are owned illegally in the first place. In fact, very little crime is committed with legally owned weapons.

The only danger involving gun legislation is the danger to lawful Americans ability to maintain and defend their freedom. It has nothing to do with being a militant minded person (which I suppose I am...I guess) and everything to do with being dedicated to the principles that this country was founded on. If you're not willing to defend your freedoms then I don't think you really deserve them in the first place.

if you aren't going to read everything I say, just don't bother.

It seems to me that the US normally gives military aid to people in the position of these police officers. This is actually pretty unique in the history of the US. I can't think of another instance where the US changed its own laws to deal with violence in another country.

Personally, I say legalize most drugs in the US and kill everyone in those cartels.

I'm all for that. Because you know, at the end of the day, it is still very much illegal to kill people.

  9. Not if you do it during a war.

  10. But you better win that war or else it is still illegal.
