So they are mad because they probably shouldn't have a gun and wouldn't be be able to get one. Man, I feel bad for them.

I don't get this argument, as guns are not being outlawed. Not everyone should be allowed to own a gun. The safety of me, my friends and family are way more important to me than some crazy idiot who feels it his right to own a gun.

In many cases don't people usually come out and say there were some pretty obvious signs? And of course there are going to be people who are going to be able to bypass the system. Nothing is perfect, but why does it even matter when if you actually deserve and are mentally stable to own a gun, it probably will not even effect you?

we don't know who it will impact until it is implemented

as I said before, crazy is a pretty relative word

It really isn't. People have their own quirks or can be weird or strange. Crazy is crazy.

Alright, we'll give you a badge and you can be the head of the crazy police. You'll go around and put a painted red C (for crazy) on the heads of everyone that you deem crazy and those people can't have guns.

We can all stop talking about this. I've just posted the solution.

Sounds good to me, and may I congratulate you on being the first person to receive a painted red C. Sorry you will not be able to purchase a fully automatic machine gun. I know you really needed it.

  6. ITT: the existence of an entire profession that goes to special school for several years on top of college for the express purpose of identifying and treating crazy people is shocking news.

those same people don't call their patients crazy. Well, not at work, anyway.

Can you imagine how much this looks like madness to anyone that sees the whole picture? All this shit to save 5 to 12 lives and impacting a little less than half the population while doing almost nothing about the causes of the other 9000+ gun related murders we have each year?
If you can think of any truly effective legislation that can pass this Congress, let me know.

Unfortunately we aren't there and will not be there for a while, if ever. In the meantime, schools and movie theaters become death traps.

Evidently not 29 dead kids. They died for Jimbob's freedom.

  9. Also: the Senators that voted for the bill represent 76% of the population. Just shows you how screwed up and anti-democratic the Senate and its current set of rules is.

I'm sure you'll have much better luck in the House with its setup...
