Widely known for its High Heat Baseball and its infinite line of <i>Army Men</i> titles, 3DO announced that it will return to profitability in the quarter ending June 30, 2002.
Over the past year, the company has taken a huge dip in stock and profits, prompting the Nasdaq National Market to step in accordance with stock listing standards. Currently, 3DO is subject to be delisted and has requested a hearing and intends to produce a plan of action, which may include a reverse stock split in order to keep them afloat.
On a related note, 3DO denounced reports which indicated its England offices were shut down. Trip Hawkins, CEO of 3DO states "False rumors and speculation about our prospects have been hurting us but this news should clear the air. We believe our position and prospects now are better than at any time in the last two years."
Apparently, the office never closed down at all, but changed its address to 9Z Upper Aughton Road, Southport, Merseyside, UK PR99UZ. Go figure.
