Thread: Official PlayStation Vita Thread

  1. I have a Vita and a 3ds.

I play the shit out of my 3ds, and occasionally play Hot Shots Golf on the Vita.
    Boo, Hiss.

  2. I think COD and AC could've really helped bolster that if they hadn't been rushed and buggy. Soul Sacrifice is another great entry but I don't think it'll catch on as a must-have.

I just don't think there is a large enough market for a system like this. The only people who care are the type of people who care enough about games like NG/MGS2/UMVC3 on the go, people like me. Joe Sixpack is fine with his iPhone.

Thank goodness there's also Ragnarok, Soul Sacrifice, and Wipeout 2048 . That's leaving off mediocre and bad stuff (yet still exclusive) like Silent Hill, little Deviants , Army Corps of Hell, Shinobido 2, and others.
And as far as the ports go, at least most of them 1) havent been shit 2)have featured free dlc or extra content in addition to the base game.
It's not as bleak as you're trying to paint it.

  5. Ragnorok is dreadful, Soul Sacrifice has fizzled, and Wipeout is rehashed out the ass. Then you listing a bunch of really shitty exclusives nobody wanted is not helping your case. I singled out Uncharted and Gravity Rush because those are the *only* exclusives any one in their right mind might would argue are potential system sellers. And Gravity Rush is a stretch.

And oh, yay, Disgaea 3 now contains all the rip-off nickle-and-diming DLC off the bat, hooray. Persona 4 is actually inarguably significantly enhanced over its four year-old PS2 counterpart, yes. But then of course we have cases of old games like Little King's Story and Muramasa shipping at full MSRP and with a bunch of gougey day-one DLC.

So yeah, it is nearly as bleak as I'm painting it, and sales prove it.

It's basically Japan's fault. Western developers don't give a flying fuck about portable games, and Japan seems to want to always support whatever the weakest hardware is they can find.

  7. what are you going to play on a 3ds

    lawl

Come on, Joust. You know how this works. Mario, Mario Kart, Star Fox, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter, etc. are never rehashes, even if half of them are remakes. Nintendo only innovates.

The best game on the system is about to be made obsolete by the higher resolution version Compass just called out as a flaw as well.

I'm thinking when the game is cross buy, it should probably not be discounted for being multiplatform. That's by definition a feature.

  10. What system is getting a higher-res port of Fire Emblem?
