Finished watching the season. I really loved the animation for the most part, most of the writing was kinda eh. It's like Yeller said, it reminds me of college animation students doing whatever they want, and then going "Netflix said we could do boobs and dicks and say 'fuck' all we want, this is gonna be cool, huh huh huh."

I watched the first three episodes, so far I'm enjoying it. 1 had cool monster fights, felt like an older kind of story (in a good way). 2 was cute, but definitely had that student project feel of "give inanimate object personality through animation". 3 was very cool visual and audio-wise, but very juvenile, surface-level "deep".

So far, yeah, it seems like they let artists do some vanity work, and I appreciate that. You can't expect the writing to be much more than an excuse to thread the visuals along.
