Right now?
"The Knack... And How to Get It" by John Barry
"O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
"Merry Christmas, Mister Lawrence" by Ryuichi Sakamoto
oh, and
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie"
I found the transformers Movie soundtrack the other day at a thriftstore for $3. I've always loved this OST. Many of the songs can stand on their own in an 80s sort of way. I also like the keyboard music on it.
Another favorite is the OST for the orginal Hellsing. I'd buy this if it was a stand alone album and had nothing to do with the show. Great atmosphere.
Does anyone else here listen to soundtracks? What do you dig?

I want to see Merry Christmas Mr. very much.
My list was:
-Flash Gordon
-Highlander
-Labyrinth
-Vanilla Sky
-Eternal Sunshine (Pretty much anything by Jon Brion really)
Check out Mr. Businessman
He bought some wild, wild life
On the way to the stock exchange
He got some wild, wild life
It really is a wonderful movie. I was at a store digging through stacks of vinyl records and noticed the soundtrack, randomly got invited to the movie, went back and bought the soundtrack. The last-track pop song rendition of the title theme (which does not appear in the movie) is terrible, but the score is really great and very 80's-Japan.
the only response to this thread is maximum overdrive ost
If you dig that late 70s early 80s sound, Heavy metal OST was pretty good
"THE" Animated Batman song (and I think only officially released soundtrack.)
i keep meaning to get a copy of this "Rock and Rule"

I've always liked Quentin Tarentino's soundtracks. Pulp Fiction has a lot of really cool surf music on it, Jackie Brown has great soul and R&B (Across 110th St., Delfonics), Kill Bill is probably the most popular, and Death Proof has that great song from that band Pete Townsend was in that I didn't know existed before I saw Death Proof.
Jackie Brown sucks though.
I also like Wes Anderson's soundtracks, mainly just because they're overloaded with The Kinks and Nuggets tracks. I also like Mark Mothersbaugh's scores.
then of course, there's Ghostbusters 2
You're wrong about Jackie Brown. It's a better movie than Reservoir Dogs (or Death Proof, for that matter).
Sooo many good scenes in that movie.
