    Good, FREE hard drive diagnostic program?

    My HTPC kept dying and won't boot up. I think it is a bad hdd. Any good suggestion on a hdd diagnostic program I can run to make sure (and not a mobo issue)?

    They are seagate, thanks. I downloaded Spinrite and found no physical defect... weird the computer keep dying and can't find boot drive. Maybe a bad sata cable...

    What do you mean by dying? Just shuts down or does it reboot?

    I also recommend the seatools. Have you run that yet?
