The North Korean military is actually quite powerful when compared to most of the world. In comparison to other countries like the United States and China however, it's more of a speed bump.


Also, all this talk of "Who are we to say they can't have nukes!?" Well, the only thing they would ever use nukes on is the US military or our South Korean ally. Sure, maybe we shouldn't tell other people what to do but we can and it keeps our country safe. Whether that makes us the good guy or the bad guy in everybody elses eyes, I'm not sure, but if we didn't respond to the world like this (especially when it comes to unstable and insane dictators) we probably wouldn't have made it this far.

Find out where all of the scientists that developed the bomb came from and what they were doing before we recruited them.

Again, this has nothing to do with who got the bomb first. Germany was defeated before we ever used a nuke and they may have very well been defeated before they were able to use their first nuke had the United States never started the research in the first place. This was the 1940's, even if Germany had been able to come up with a bomb sometime during the war, there wasn't the readily available materials to make a large quantity of nuclear weapons and the Soviets would've kept coming, despite the fact that if a division or two of their military was to succumb to a tactical nuclear attack.

The war was over for the Germans in 1942. Perhaps if they had nuclear weapons during this time, they MAY have been able to turn the tide but by 1944 and 1945 there was probably nothing that could've saved them.

Ummm, I believe that Germany was defeated before we even used the bomb on Japan so whether we had developed it or not really has nothing to do with Germany in WWII. Even if they had come up with it before we did, by 1945 their country was in complete shambles and a few nukes used on the advancing Soviets wouldn't have stopped them.

yes and no. sure by 1945 victory in europe was a foregone conclusion, and i agree that even direct nuclear hits to major cities would not have stopped the soviet tide. but earlier on, before the foothold in western europe, maybe hitler could have scared stalin into a truce or maybe even a shaky alliance against the west. then again, he could have just not attacked the soviets in the first place, and won the war.

The USA was not developing a nuke for Germany or Japan, they were developing it with Russia clearly in mind.
