Twins have the advantage in that they're going against the fucking Royals lol

Thats true plus the Tigers looked DEAD against the White Sox. Freddy freakin Garcia pitched into the 8th inning for crying out loud. Verlander also has averaged 120 pitches over the last month. He's a horse but maybe that adds up after awhile.

  3. DODGERS ARE NL WEST CHAMPS!!!!!!!!

  4. Took them fucking long enough.

haha...thats what I've been saying. They should have clinched a week ago! Oh well, tonight's win secures the Dodgers as having the best record in the National League this year, so they'll have home field advantage in the division series.

It sucks that the Dodgers are playing the Cards in the first round, considering the fact that the Dodgers couldn't beat the Cards even if they fielded a team of fucking little leaguers. I highly doubt the Dodgers will make it to the NLCS this year...but it was a fun year while it lasted

  6. Carpenter + Wainwright = first round elimination. Should have tanked the division.

haha...very true. I was actually starting to wonder if that was the Dodgers' plan. I think the Dodgers can easily handle the Phillies this year, especially with last years NLCS experience and the Phils not having a real closer this year. SO, it would have been nice to face them in the first round this time.

That being said, I didn't want the Dodgers to face the Cubs in the first round last year either....and they handled that quite well. So, you never know, thats why this is baseball.

Steve Lyons claims that the Cards have a, in his words, "really, really, crappy bullpen." He says, if the Dodgers want to win they should be patient and wait for Wainwright & Carpenter to get into high pitch counts, and then beat up on the bullpen. We'll see how that plan works on Wednesday

EDIT - To be honest though, the playoffs are such a crap shoot. Anything can happen. My new philosophy is that, if the Dodgers MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, then it was a really successful season. If they do well in the playoffs, then thats awesome. If they tank in the playoffs, I'm not going to get upset over it, because the playoffs are all about luck, and which team is hot at the moment. So, I'm happy with the Dodgers 94-95 wins this season, and I'll just sit back and try to ENJOY the playoffs without getting stressed out if they start losing.

  8. Scuttlebutt around Toronto is Ricciardi leaked the Cito rumour to protect his ass. I'm not sure how this rumour got started. There's still too little known at this point.

  9. ..and so a horrendous Mets season comes to a close as they sweep the Astros. They need to clean house big time but I'll jibba jibba about that during the offseason.

So it looks like the Twins and Tigers will have that one final game against each other on tuesday.

Just looking at some of the Mets stats....and I was wondering, why did David Wright finish with ONLY 10 Hrs and 72 RBIs?! Was it a lack of protection in the lineup? Did he have a nagging injury too? Or did he just have an all around down year power wise?
