Thread: Official 2009 Major League Baseball Season Thread

  1. Yankees win... again.

  2. Anyone saw what happened with John Lackey??? lol His first start of the season and his first pitch is thrown behind Ian Kinsler. His second pitch hits Kinsler and the home plate ump ejects him. Ridiculous! two pitches in his first start and he's gone. A joke of a job by the ump.

Johan Santana with his first mediocre start today and it doesn't help that he had some sloppy defense behind him. Luckily for him he's actually had some run support but the Giants are fighting back.

Was he really rusty or exacting revenge on Kinsler?

  4. Johan wasn't so great and his defense betrayed him a few times but the Mets pulled out a win and will go for the sweep tomorrow. Putz had his first save today and his pitches looked good too. All that 9th inning adrenaline I guess...

The best part of today's game was Karros having the balls to say that the Mets' biggest competition is themselves.

The worst part of that is that it's true and for the past 3 years they couldn't handle the competition.

    Agreed.

  8. Wow Brewers escape with a 1-0 win vs the Cards. Looks like I missed a good pitchers duel. Last time the Brewers won a game with less than a couple hits was back in the 70s! LOL Last nights game was rain delayed and the Cards were winning that one 2-0. Trevor Hoffman has been the shit so far. Nine games and ZERO runs scored on him.

I've noticed that most of the umps have a really quick hook this year. When are they going to get it through their bloated skulls that nobody buys a ticket to watch them ump a game?
