Watching the Rangers/Caps series and the Pens/Flyers series has just confirmed my belief that the lockout was really all about leveling the playing field so that the league could decide most outcomes.

I'm going to move near an AHL team down the road so I can watch real hockey again. I can't stand these ticky-tacky calls, it really mars the sport.

I wouldn't sound so glum. The Caps are historically terrible playing game seven. I think their last win in a game 7 was 20 years ago against the Flyers.

Even if the Rangers get to another round, they aren't doing anything. They're a poorly constructed team with a good goalie. Not enough.

Capitals' Donald Brashear has a 1pm (et) hearing with the NHL to discuss his actions in Game 6 against the Rangers. He will face supplemental discipline for his exchange with Colton Orr prior to the game and his late hit on Blair Betts. Sources tell TSN Betts suffered a broken orbital bone as a result of the hit and is likely done for the playoffs.

When he's on top of his game he's on top of the crease more, but when he plays poorly you'll catch him deep a lot.
