I guess the game itself really does exist:

    Gameplay starts at about 4:00.

  3. I only skimmed but that didn't sound like original Garrett voice actor.

    NO SALE.

This Thief game has third- person climbing sections.
I expected this because of Human Revolution but I still think it's lame if it's not just an option.

It makes minor use of quick time events.
    Fuck off.

It has context-sensitive controls that mean you can only jump when the game says you can jump.
    Double fuck off.

It has ‘Focus mode’, which gifts master thief Garrett with limited time-slowing combat abilities.
This better not also be a "tell the player exactly where to go" ability.

And I read somewhere it has context-sensitive rope arrows. Next thing they'll tell us it has autosaves only.

I feel as though you're holding back. Tell us how you really feel.

My anger at modern big budget gaming will start to decline once we get a handful of quality spiritual successors to late '90s PC games via Kickstarter. That's my hope anyway.

  7. Rise of the Triad broke even already. it's rough around the edges, so it would require a bigger budget to be totally satisfying, but I think it's possible to find a market for late 90s era budget games

    ROTT is crap.

The 1990s were a long time ago. They are never coming back. Time to move on. Games are different now.
