I've never beaten a Thief game. I've played the first and third ones, but something always happens and I stop playing.
Never beaten a Deus Ex either. Got close, but never did.
Which one? There were two different games with that name.

A couple other and somewhat troubling developments: online and UE3. I can't imagine a scenario where multiplayer makes sense in Thief, and if the characters look like Gears of War, as many UE3 games' do, that'll be awful.
There actually was an AMAZING Thief Multiplayer mod on the Unreal engine a long time ago; it was a bit one sided for the guards, but you basically had guards and thieves, the thieves having certain objectives to accomplish and the guards to prevent them. It was really neat; but I have a hard time believing that anyone can pull it off in today's market. Games would take a long time, because you could be patient and try to sneak in. There is no way that model would work now.
That sounds exactly like Splinter Cell's multiplayer, which kicked ass in Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. I want that, please.

THat was the mod I believe, looks like what I remember.
Stealth games have more potential for "interesting" multiplayer modes than basic shootman games.
It's really true. The one problem with the Splinter Cell MP, and I personally didn't even consider it a problem, was the steep learning curve. It was such a deep (and complex) multiplayer experience that unless you played from day 1 or spent an insane amount of time learning all of the maps, weapons, tactics, etc, it was impossible to compete.

It was the same way with Theivery, and it always felt like the guards had the advantage. But that's what made being a thief so fun.
That's what I mean by I don't see them doing it right in this market; people don't have the patience to learn these games, they want simple garbage like CoD and Battlefield. Where everything is level up and get familiar with the maps and your reaction; not planning and process. But if they did do it well I'd be pleasantly surprised.
