If Obsidian actually tried those it would probably work out better for them.

They are generally given pretty short development times from what I've seen, but they should also have learned by now that they can't work under that crunch and/or started managing their time better. That last part most likely stems from (and this seems to have been confirmed from a supposed Obsidian worker) them having shitty management.

I'm about 18 hours in and I love New Vegas. I mean, it's ugly as shit but the world design and quests are top-notch. I really like it.

I am currently in Freeside and have been doing quests around town - the NCR likes me and Caesar's Legion hates me. I've noticed the game gets pretty rough if you step outside of the prescribed loop (Goodsprings->Primm->Nipton->Novac->Freeside), but I'm only level 13 or so. I look forward to getting to a higher level so I can explore a bit more. It's definitely not designed for wandering around like FO3 was but that's okay.

I'm also glad I waited a year and a half, I've had a few crashes and hangs but it only seems a little bit worse on that front than FO3 on 360.

I just started playing this again recently and I'm a little behind you right now. I cleared out the prison, and killed all the Legion in Nipton so now I'm loved by the NCR and hated by the Legion and Powdergangers. I just ventured up to the Mojave Outpost and took care of their problems and saved before I trekked on over to Novac. I think I'm only level 9 or so right now.

I actually played this about 2/3s of the way through on the 360 when it launched but for some reason I stopped and never went back. I remember getting kinda obsessed with virtual hording the first time so I'm gonna cut that shit out this time.

Haven't had a crash yet but I know I've been lucky.

I helped them there, the outpost, and I got them more troops so they can take care of Primm.

I was a total asshole my first time through so I'm trying to go all noble white knight this time around.

I'm close to the end of this game and can't be bothered to just finish it already. I'll play it and either A. I get overwhelmed with sidequests or game bugs just make me turn it off. I have seen some pretty funny glitches like people stuck in walls, floors and ceilings?!?! People standing on people in chairs, people doing the walking man into a wall. It's sad that I've had this game since launch and I've not finished it and it's still broken. This is the reason I won't buy any Bethseda games anymore.

Same. I tried popping it in again a few weeks back, finally made it to the first Casino for the first time, and found a rocket launcher. That just lead to me exploding everything I saw until I had laughed a few times and turned it off again. It felt very odd to not have a run button, and for some reason that really bothered me.

That's because it's set to auto-run by default and you have a walk button to slow down.
