Discotek has announced that they've got a new anime release lined up for later this year with their acquisition of the Crying Freeman complete anime series. This show was released several years ago by ADV Films but the rights have obviously lapsed on it. In addition to this, Discotek has picked up the rights to the live action Hana Yori Dango movie, better known as Boys Over Flowers in the US. This franchise started as a manga series and then became an anime series as well, both of which have been released in their entirety by Viz Media. No date is yet set for the Crying Freeman movie but Hana Yori Dango is set for August 25th of this year.

I've always heard this is one of the great classics of anime's golden age, but never got around to seeing it. God those ADV boxes were obscenely priced. Great to see it coming around again.
