I almost never had a problem with the camera. It's better than the Ninja Gaiden series, and that one never really bothered me. You just need to remember where your enemies are in the environment even if they're not on screen.

I also had very little problems with the camera, aside from the mentioned final boss where they like to stick the camera in terrible places when you have to dodge the incoming transformation rings. It can be overcome with learning the timing, but it's not set up very well. It's also a pretty long fight so that certainly doesn't help (though the finale and credits are pretty cool).

The parry accessory is hard to use as it requires near precision, but I personally refuse to use items (like healing) in action games like this and DMC because I'd rather die and try again to learn how to play better. Out of curiousity, did you know about/were you using the Kilgore combo?

It's arguably game-breaking in some ways (not as much as the ultimate weapon, which is just insanity) but is a powerful force. Another thing you might want to try out is there are ways of unlocking all the items and weapons without actually beating the game on all difficulties, I know there's info on GameFAQs for grinding halos and using cheat codes at one of the phone booths.

I went to play this the other day and I don't know where my disc is. I hate people that can't put stuff back in its case.

Wow - I never found/unlocked that Kilgore thing. All I have is the katana and the Durga. I didn't know about halo farming either; I was saving halos until I had the 200K necessary for the Moon accessory (which I couldn't afford until Chapter 12).

I looked at a FAQ for the first time today; I was shocked to discover I missed a ton of stuff. I had no idea there was so much hidden all over the place. I didn't even know what Alfheim portals were until I stumbled into one very late in the game; I figured the verses I kept missing would unlock during future playthroughs.

Y'know, now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing, I may just start over and pay more attention to finding stuff. I made a lot of decisions I regret, like saving halos & not unlocking air dodge/air kick right away. The basic combat is a lot of fun, moreso against regular enemies than the linear, annoying bosses.

Well the Kilgore combo as shown is a glitch, since it's using the claw kick attack but subs in the rockets. Easiest way is to equip set A with double Durga and set B with Durga hands and Kilgore feet. Using set A do PPPPK, and as the kick animation starts press the swap key to switch to set B and ROCKETS EVERYWHERE

After PS2 Shinobi's shit camera, I could never complain about any other camera. That's including Ninja Gaiden.

Shinobi had lock-on so it was better than Ninja Gaiden. Onimusha 2 was what got me over most cameras, even with it being pre-rendered they somehow managed to pick and choose the worst possible angles ever. I'm still convinced they went out of their way to ensure it would be the worst experience possible.

Lock-on didn't mean shit when the camera is right up your asshole. Remember the spider boss or bat or whatever it was in the round room? Yeah good luck being able to see it.

Sounds like you were playing it wrong. For the spider boss (as with most bosses) you hang way back and wait for enemies to spawn to build up a tate, then run in and strike once. You should only have any issue if you're sitting on the boss wailing away (because he's a fat fucker and the camera can get lost inside him), which is also the slow and painful method of killing that will get you a shit score.

I can't recall having camera problems in any video game I've played, Ninja Gaiden included.

Well I managed to beat the final boss. I got three Bronzes and the rest Stone, lol. Anyways I immediately started a new game, and it's going much, much better.

I'm avoiding items. I unequipped the Moon accessory so I can fully focus on dodging, and turned off that god damn Breakdance move - I can't tell you how many times I held down dodge a bit too long, causing Bayo to break out in a spread eagle pirouette at the worst possible time. Nice on my eyes, bad for her health.

Very nice game, but I like Vanquish a lot more.
