    Hahaha I dunno, man, I'm just trying to come up with a reason why Guy Pearce was cast. Ridley Scott isn't stupid; why have Pearce as a geezer when there are plenty of older actors who would have been more appropriate? Because maybe the eventual plan is to see Weyland at Pearce's actual age. A total guess on my part, but it was a very odd casting choice. Who knows if we'll ever get a Prometheus sequel, or if we'll get more information in DVD special features or a director's cut, but it's hard for me to see Ridley making this type of casting choice without a good reason. It's not like the role required a younger guy, right?

    The Alien series consists of four movies, each by different directors. There isn't much of a coherent legacy to live up to.

    I'm pretty confident that they shot scenes of Weyland as a young man and then cut them. How else do you explain this?

    I was thinking more Ridley Scott's legacy of awesome sci fi movies (alien and blade runner)

  7. He's supposed to be an old man that has spent tons and tons of money trying not to die/be old right? so I don't think it's so ridiculous that he looks like a guy in old man makeup.

    I would have liked it more if they left that last part out of it.

    There is shit I irrationally hate (like Assassin's Creed 2, or the Mamma Mia! movie), but at least I know my hatred is irrational.
