I don't think there is an easy way to get vga to convert to either component or hdmi. If you TV has a dvi input you might try going that way, but any other sort of method will probably wind up being more expensive than it is worth.
I know the VGA box outputs at 480p, and that a DC can be internally modded with a VGA port, but is it possible to mod the DC to get it outputting in 480p via component or HDMI cables? My new Panasonic Viera plasma has no VGA input, and the 480i Dreamcast display looks like warm shit on it.

I've heard that some TVs can use their component inputs as RGB, but I have no idea how to tell if mine can. This is the tv: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218061795104

Something like this maybe?
BUY MY GAMES! [~Video Game Print Ads - Twitter - 360 ~] Currently Playing: Black Ops II & Borderlands 2 (360), FTL & Brogue (PC)
I thought my tv had a DVI input but now I'm not sure; I'm not near the tv and some spec sheets say yes, others no. It's the Panasonic Viera 42" 720p TC-P42X1.
Hmm, everything I find seems to say that your set doesn't have any sort of rgb/pc input. Doesn't look you have a good way to do this without dropping stupid money on a converter.
I found this tutorial for installing a VGA jack on the DC directly; would it be possible to build a set of component jacks?

Lots of information on that can be found here. Good luck!

All answers point to having to buy the 130 dollarish converter.
Hmmm...apparently some TV's have component jacks that also accept RGB input; is there a way to find out if my tv does? I looked through the manual and googled, found nothing about it.
