METAL IS AWESOME
Hmmm, I made another comp for my car lately. Granted, this isn't metal for the most part, but I don't see the point in creating a thread for this. Besides, some other people here might like Celtic music too. I do, but hell, I'm Irish (for the most part, anyway)...

Perhaps. But on the other side of the coin, why post my stuff in that thread when no one there knows or cares about any of the bands that I put on these things? I'm willing to bet that most fans of techno/indie rock aren't going to give a shit who Primordial are just because I put them on a CD for my car.Originally posted by ruhztee
I do.
Granted, my little car comps aren't the talk of the town here but at least some people might recognize the names...
Well, I can't go seeing as how I live in Texas, but I checked out Cyanide Breed and they're actually pretty decent. Maybe they would be damn cool if I wasn't up for 72 consecutive hours before listening to them. I'll be keeping tabs on them.Originally posted by Phil Death

BTW, was/is Pete Gallagher in another band? I could have sworn that I'd heard his name before.
And who are Thorn Fiction and Circle of Fear? I've heard all the other bands (well, save for Revenge, but since I hated Angel Corpse I'm not exactly eager to try them out unless they sound a lot different...).
I'm a big Enya fan, this is one of her better songs and the best off of Watermark.Originally posted by CynicalSphere

I was never huge on The Mummers Dance but it's a good song nonetheless. Mary Black? She very good? What is the music like?2. MARY BLACK - Song For Ireland

4. LOREENA MCKENNIT - Mummers Dance
Tuatha De Dannan sounds interesting - what are they like?5. TUATHA DE DANANN - Us*
6. ENYA - Exile

More Enya from Watermark though I'm not sure which album Exile is from but I'm thinking Watermark again. Funny as it's my least favorite album of hers. Memory of Trees is more to my liking.
I might recommend Chrono Crosses "Dream of the Shore" which owns pretty much any song that Squaresoft has ever attached to a game.(The following was to fill out the CD)

MORE ON THIS SUBJECT:
I would like to hear what a good metal band could do with "All Souls Night" which I think could be metal-ed up quite nicely if the arrangements were done just so. Moreover though, LM doesn't lend her music well to Metal I don't think. But then I could easily be suprised. A good many covers (which I can be partial too at times if I like the song being covered as well as the band covering it) have come to pass that I previously would not have though of or even possible to be done right and were.
Enya's Pax Desomething-something which I cannot recall too clearly at the moment being at work, has a great many elements and instrumentation that I think would just make for a Summoning-esque song excellently. I thought so the first time I heard it. It's off Memory of Trees (track #3 if I recall). That brings me to my only qualm with Summoning (which isn't completely thier fault). Thier synthisized instruments sound too flaky at times and it really hurts the songs. My first impression with them wasn't wholly great because of the intro to South Away. It was still a great song and sold me on hearing more from them (which I will never regret) but the very beginging of the song was and still is completely awful sounding. They need to fix things like that - but I'm sure money is an issue.

Well, folk isn't my area of expertise but I think her music is pretty cool. Her music is mainly acoustic guitar/piano stuff from what I've heard, more folky and less poppy than a lot of other artists I've heard. She's got a terrific voice though IMO.
Well, that's admittedly the only Enya album I have. I admittedly spend too much money on metal and not enough on other kinds of music, heheh.Tuatha De Dannan sounds interesting - what are they like?

TUATHA DE DANANN is a band from Brazil that sounds kinda like what would happen if The Corrs, Iron Maiden, a death vocalist, and a pinch of Blind Guardian and/or Rhapsody were mixed together. It's basically straight-up folk/power metal with flutes, whistles, and the occasional fiddle thrown in. I guess the closest direct comparison is Elvenking from Italy but TDD is more to my liking than they are. Very weird and good shit that's hard to find but still worth checking out.
Heheh, never heard that one.I might recommend Chrono Crosses "Dream of the Shore" which owns pretty much any song that Squaresoft has ever attached to a game.
Yeah, that's true but it's also the name of the game with synths. You have to either drop a SHITLOAD of money to get "real" sounding synths or you have to deal with flaky sounding synths. I personally think Summoning sounds great for what they are (because most other bands that do this kinda thing sound much worse), but YMMV.That brings me to my only qualm with Summoning (which isn't completely thier fault). Damn that sounds interesting - do you have an mp3 i could get from you on aim? that looks fantastic on paper.TUATHA DE DANANN is a band from Brazil that sounds kinda like what would happen if The Corrs, Iron Maiden, a death vocalist, and a pinch of Blind Guardian and/or Rhapsody were mixed together.
