Thread: The Metal Thread 4.0

  1. Well, I dunno. It's Blabbermouth's word against Century Media's and Opeth's sites, so who knows. It's possible that the new information negates the old, or they may not be part of the festival at all (Opeth isn't on the official tour site). :/

To be honest, I wouldn't take everything Blabbermouth says to heart, either. From what I understand, they tend to put rumors across as the truth. Plus, it's possible from the way it's worded that Opeth may play as little as one date on the DTB tour... :/

  2. the only date they could play on that tour is the 3rd - yeah - i know about blabbermouth's tendencies and really expect nothing less from them - i mean look at their name after all. But I hate things that make me panic all of a sudden, my main worry is that the Opeth/Lacuna Coil tour gets shifted back a day or something - that would so fuck up everything for me. *shakes fist at the world* - we'll see the opeth site says about it soon.

    DANZIG
    SUPERJOINT RITUAL
    MESHUGGAH
    NILE
    OPETH
Hmmm, if it's at a semi-decent venue around me I'd actually like to check that out. I actually like Danzig, Nile and Opeth would be worthwhile, and I was interested in seeing what Meshuggah is like live.

  5. After feeling dejected because some douchebag named Keith bought the Sega Nomad I've had my eye on for a while, I stumbled into a local Borders, and found out that they're having a student discount sale that's going on today and tomorrow. Just show them your high school or college student I.D. and you get 20% off any CD.

I picked up Blind Guardian's Imaginations From the Other Side and Suicidal Tendencies’ self titled album, all for the price of $26 (I saved $6.)

I'm sure station already knew about this, but I just thought I'd pass along the news to the rest of us who don't work at Borders.

  6. shit - i didn't know that - thanks man!

    They're fine musically...

but you get to see the singer do all kinds of stupid "hardcore" movements, like moving his head up, down, left, and right to the beat of the song...

And he also does this thing where he leans back/downwards to the beat of the song...

I felt that it kinda detracted from the experience, but other than that they rocked

I'm used to that from local shows, doesn't really detract from the music for me. So long as they play New Millenium Cyanide Christ I'd consider it a worthwhile set. I think I may go to this.

    To that I say:

At least they're not Soilwork. That was the most Faggotized stage proformance I have ever borne witness to.

  10. FINNTROLL Guitarist's Death Alcohol-Related - Mar. 18, 2003

FINNTROLL/IMPALED NAZARENE guitarist Teemu "Somnium" Raimoranta died Sunday morning (March 16) of injuries sustained in an alcohol-related accidental fall, it has been officially announced. Teemu was 25 years old.

As previously reported, FINNTROLL recently completed work on an "acoustic/experimental" CD, titled "Visor Om Slutet" (the group's first with new singer Tapio Wilska), and were set to embark on a European tour next month with KATATONIA. It is not presently clear if the band will proceed with their touring plans in light of Somnium's passing.
