    That was beautifully worded.
I took all your French Toast.

  2. I don't know if persecution has to involve mortal danger, but it certainly involves more that people on the internet calling you stupid.

I'm not saying this about you specifically but some devout Atheists are just as bad as the super religious nuts out there. It's their unwillingness to bend at all in their beliefs that gets to me.

    Someone explain THAT to me.

There's a very large number of gods that man has created to explain things he doesn't understand and Christianity is just one of them. Also one of the youngest. How can someone look at the beliefs of someone else and KNOW that they are wrong when those people have books and stories and no evidence that's worth a damn either.

GLASS HOUSES. They all can't be right. But they damn sure can all be wrong.
What drives me nuts (and this is especially true of Jews) is that they believe that their religion is the correct one which BY SHEER LUCK just so happens to be the one they were born into, despite no exposure to anything else.

I can at least say I've studied dozens of religions in varying degrees of depth and learned from the people that believed in them with an open mind. I did ultimately decide that they aren't true but I fucking put the effort into getting to that place, which seems like more than a lot of people are willing to do.

The funny thing is that I was raised in a religious household and I live in a society where religion is everywhere.

I've already demonstrated my ability to change MY mind.

Yes! That's exactly what I was getting at. No one puts thought or effort into their religion. Not the history behind it...hell lots of people don't even really know their own scripture. But hey, I thought it was like the most important thing ever D00d?

  7. It makes sense that people don't know squat about their own religion. The whole purpose, after all, is to stick their head in the sand and pretend they're going to live forever. The details are mostly irrelevant.

  8. Noah's Farce never happened you dummies.

Athiests that think their belief system automatically makes them intellectually superior drive me nuts, and ultimately some of them really do seem to be following a dogma and regurgitating shit they heard elsewhere. You get that everywhere I suppose.

Ultimately, if it gets you through the day and it makes you a better person, I'm all for whatever you believe. But when they get all "It's stupid to think the universe could just be" like squall, that's when I get annoyed.

ok, if you tone it down a bit, lets say if you are censored. Be it by force, punishment, law, or death.

Being made fun of is not persecution.
