Sick game. US totally earned that victory, especially after the New Years Eve match-up.

Sad note: I'm quite sure most of Canada was huddled around their televisions for the Dec 31st game. Americans? Not so much.

It was an awesome fucking game holy cow. I was rooting for the USA but would have accepted a Canadian win because I like my prospects to be winners. What a finish to that game.

It's extra special when we get to rub Canada's noses in it at the only thing they really have.


And I absolutely did NOT totally know this was going to happen. Canada was sick, but US is better on defense. <shrug> I thought after Canada got it tied the second time that there was no way the USA would come up with the goods. Eberle is pretty sick.

Eberle is going to be the Oilers best draft pick of the past 15 years. Though, the Oil have had a horrific draft record over that time.

I thought after Canada got it tied the second time that there was no way the USA would come up with the goods.

It happened too many times. The US was getting fed up with Canada's miracle comeback routine. And Canada was letting this happen too many times. They were going to get burned eventually.

I'm just hoping sometime in the future there's a WBC-like upset for Canada (in the medal round, not in the first round), but that won't happen.
