Couldn't agree more. Neither team deserved to lose and the goalies were fantastic. Marty and Henrik are now in the top 5 of save % of goalies playing 30+ games. Fantastic stuff. The shoot can kiss my ass and I know it helped the Rangers make the playoffs last year. I hate it. It isn't hockey.

The "fans" that support any of the lockout changes are almost as guilty as Bettman in all of this. Without exception, every change sucks. The cap sucks, the trapezoid sucks, the shootout sucks, and the fact that what a penalty is changes from period-to-period and game-to-game sucks. And that last one sucks even more because most of what is a penalty at any time shouldn't be.

At least least they let them play last night. One of the calls that made it a 5-on-3 was weak, but there was a blatant board on Parise that went uncalled like 30 seconds later, so it evened out quickly.

So Khabibulin, who has been day to day since November with a back issue, is now out for the season with that same back issue, as he is having surgery today. The Oil, which are sitting comfortably in first place in the first pick overall sweepstakes, will be going with their young goalies to see which if either can handle the pressure.

I expect there will be a few salary dumps this trade deadline, if they can find anyone to take Moreau Horcoff and Souray.

I don't hate the SO. I do NOT like the scoring system. If you lose you should get zero points. None. At all. I don't care if you make it to OT or SO. YOU STILL LOST. I would prefer the game to just end after regulation personally. When you tie you get a point. Pre SO the teams would skate around lazily for 5 minutes to play for a point. Once in a while a team would need that extra point an play for it. So the league then makes it 4-on-4 thinking more space would fix it. It's not the lack of space, it's the fucking mindset that you're still being rewarded to not play your ass off during regulation. Then they add the SO to make it more exciting but the mindset is still there. They should just take out the useless 5 minute OT and go straight to the SO. Then again if they want to keep a 3 point system, reward someone for winning in regulation with 3 points. If you go to OT and win you get 2, a shootout win you get 1. That'll make for some of the best initial 60 minutes of hockey the league has seen in years.

Totally, COMPLETELY, disagree. You shouldn't get zero points because of a skills competition. Fuck that.

If you lose you lose. Like I said, I would prefer for games to end at regulation but we're not going to get that. Teams rely on the crutch that is the automatic point anymore and 99% of the time it makes for boring hockey. Overtime is so utterly boring and useless.
