I liked the sequel, it did the first one justice. It didn't quite have the punch the first movie had. But it's still 100% worth seeing and existing.

My memory of the first is hazy, but I just saw the sequel and I liked it at least as much as the first!

I just saw the second with the fam and spent much of the drive home defending why I thought it was better than the first. Also, +1 for Godzilla-like glowing scales at the end.
