I think the VGA cable actually comes with a RCA female to 3.5mm male adapter, so you really shouldn't have to pick up any adapters or cables for your audio whatsoever. Just the DVI adapter if your monitor can't take VGA.

The official one used to afaik. They may not anymore with their constant cost cutting. iirc the 3.5mm end of the plug MS gives is a male lead though.

They also give some other gender changer for the vga part. Can't remember what it was though.
