Thread: Completion Thread: 2010 Edition

  1. Finally beat Grand Theft Auto IV. A bit too much of the goomba shit at the end but good overall.

I'd thought I quoted myself earlier this year, with another game I had completed. I don't know what happened to it though.

It's been a pretty busy year with most of my time being consumed by work, but I did finish several other games.

Star Wars: TFU (PS3) - I may go back to complete a couple of trophies I've missed, but I'm pretty much done with this game.
Fear 2 (PS3) - Is there a glitch for one of the trophies in this game? I went back through every level, but I couldn't find any of the missing green vials for the slowdown effect. Yet, I never got a trophy for it.
Blazing Angels 2(360) - I've pretty much completed 90% of the single-player achievement and I don't plan on playing multi-player anytime soon.

I'm hoping to finish God of War 2 (PS3) in the next month, but I have several other games I'm interested in playing.

  4. Halo: Reach (360)

I thought this was the best campaign of any Halo though I've just started ODST so that may change (I like ODST so far). I'm not a huge Halo fan by any means, the series having progressively fallen out of my favor after CE, but I really enjoyed the condensed, claustrophobic combat in Reach's campaign. Some things could have been left out such as the ship and helicopter but overall I thought this was the most intense, engaging Halo campaign yet. I can see myself coming back to complete this on Legendary after a few months. 9/10

    29. Fallout: New Vegas (PC, Hardcore)

In a lot of ways, this game disproves the old adage that "you can't go home again." All of the best traits of Fallout 3 (except for bug squashing) are back and expanded upon. Unfortunately, the bug issue is a fairly large one, depending on where it shows up for each player. Very near the end of the game, upon removing Mr. House, I was attacked by the NCR troops on The Strip for no apparent reason. I had been working for them all along and had heeded the warning to go no further with Mr. Big. Long story short, it made me choose a different ending than I really wanted to pursue. I went down the No God, No Master path instead. The ending was impressive in that it really detailed the effects that all of your relationships had throughout the game and highlighted that the outcomes were not black and white. Decisions I made in good faith had unforeseen (but logical) negative side effects. I anxiously await the inevitable expansions and trying out more of the great mods.

  6. I liked how the NCR kept shooting me on sight whenever I rolled up to the Hoover Dam for the President quest, just because I had a weapon out. Took me half an hour to figure out that they weren't actually hostile.

  7. Beat Sonic 4...at some point in the past few weeks. Loved it, too short for $15, can't wait for Ep. 2.

  8. #35) Deadstorm Pirates (PS3)
    Score: 9.8M
    Continues: 7

Finished on defaults in Arcade mode. DSP is another reason for Time Crisis: Razing Storm being my pick for GOTY 2010.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  9. #13: Joe and Mac (Genesis) - I was chillen with the baby in his room and decided to bust out the Genny and this was the first game I grabbed. The rolling stone is by far the best weapon in the game. When I lived on a Naval base in Italy when I was child this was one of two arcades they had (the other being The Simpsons) and I must have dumped a ton of money into it.
